Summary of comments of this office by Dom Schuster, in his work L'année liturgique.
The Introït is taken from Psalm 17: "The Lord became my protector, and He brought me forth into a large place: He saved me, because He was well pleased with me."
The response of the Gradual, which the soloist would sing on the steps of the ambo where the sub-deacon had read the epistle, is the same for that of the Friday after the second Sunday of Lent: "In my trouble I cried to the Lord, and He heard me."
The versicle of the Alleluia is taken from Psalm 7: "O Lord, my God, in Thee have I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me."
The versicle of the Offertory is the same as that of the Monday after Passion Sunday. It is taken from Psalm 6: "Turn to me, O Lord, and deliver my soul, O save me for Thy mercy's sake."
The antiphon for the Communion belongs to Psalm 12, and expresses the gratitude of the soul that wishes to magnify God because He has given him good things.
