I would also like to thank you for producing the CD volumes. I have many other chant recordings, but none compare to the Schola Bellarmina. The accompaniment, the pronunciation, and the conformance with the Liber Usualis have made them invaluable to me for meditation, prayer and studying chant correctly. I should have mentioned how impressed I am with every aspect of the Chant recordings...technique, style, acoustic space, textual fidelity, recording quality...all superior. Some purists I know have quibbled over the use of the organ accompaniment, but it has been the traditional method for so many years and it's also the method most traditional Catholics prefer and with which they are most familiar. The Mass of the Week frames a beautiful accompaniment to my daily LOH and I've also started following along in my Liber Usualis. Also, the included organ solos by various composers are all musical gems and beautifully enhance the spiritual atmosphere. The organists' chosen stops are simple and subtle and reflect and maintain the reverent atmosphere beautifully.

On a purely musical level one easily sees that these chants are truly the beginning of all Western music. You are constantly hearing the basic phrases and patterns which became the basic "nuts and bolts" of all that followed! But on a spiritual level they are almost beyond comparison and worth. I have many commercial recordings of many styles of medieval chant but few if any, convey these eternal spiritual truths so effectively. In a CD collection 5 or 6 thousand, spanning all periods and styles of serious Western music, these recordings are already part of my nucleus of around a hundred totally satisfying recordings.
