L'influence de l'école vénitienne et des Gabrieli sur la musique sacrée. Print E-mail
Andrea et Giovanni Gabrieli ont marqué non seulement leurs élèves, mais une bonne partie des compositeurs de musique sacrée du XVIIe siècle. De Schütz à Galuppi en passant par Legrenzi, Caldara, leur influence s'est étendue aux grands centres de la musique religieuse: Venise, Munich, Salzbourg et jusqu'au nord de l'Allemagne.

Why CMS100.pngshould one write new polyphonies when there are so many around already ?
There are many indeed. For instance Palestrina wrote many motets based on the texts of Temporal masses.. However, who has heard of them ? Palestrina’s total works, in 32 volumes, do exist, as published by the Italian Institute for Historical Music, but they are not for sale.
