Les recherches historiques du dernier siècle ont largement prouvé que le répertoire grégorien ne se réduit pas un fond primitif romain que le pape Grégoire le Grand aurait systématisé pour fournir le corpus actuel. Cette image d'Epinal n'a pas résisté à une étude sérieuse, laquelle met à jour les méandres d'une histoire dont nous ne connaîtrons sans doute jamais le détail.

An interview with Monsignor Bartolucci, master emeritus of the Sistine Chapel

We thank the organizers of the site "Disputationes theologicae", from which we reproduce an interview they had with Monsignor Domenico Bartolucci, master emeritus of the Sistine Chapel, a most eminent expert on liturgy, from the Tuscan countryside and their inevitable processions accompanied by the fanfare, to the pomp and splendor of the "papal chapel" in the Apostolic Palaces. His loud voice and his typically Tuscan expressions - unfortunately difficult to render in this French translation - like the incidents with which he punctuates his answers, express better than words the convictions of a member of the Church, who has been suffering with it the tumults of recent decades.
